there is one idiom in Mongolia. "A horse of fisher is thirsty." Is that true? I think some feng shui adviser and lama, live not so enough rich and happy. why?
I cannot agree that astrology and fengshuei are overestimated, as a whole, because when done properly one can save many dissapointments, misfortune etc. when being alerted in advance! And that is why they are used!!!However it is in the hands of the interpreter to explain in a proper manner what should be done in the case of fengsui for example. But people, I think are very inert and they are not inclined to do things themselves but rather choose to wait and watch /when fengshui could inspire them to do something for harmonizing themselves for example/, and thus loose patience and become unbelievers. The same is with the lamas. In this predominantly material and hursh world is quite difficult to look inside oneself and choose to change it in order to endure the pressure, to be good and caring, to believe in higher energies. .......
When people want to feng shui their property, they mostly are interested in wealth. But what is wealth, how one measures wealth and what he means by that. They usually disregard the other goals in their life, relationships, health etc.besides most people have misunderstood what feng shui is all about.Fengshui is to bring harmony in our life.we have a lot of examples ,as Danny referred, of many celebrities and how miserable lives they lead despite their riches.
Pedro,as far as it concerns vastu ,I think modern practitioners have over simplified it as it has happened with Feng shui.Classical Feng shui is about tapping the benevolent directional energies and put some cures or enhancements using the proper element. All other cures ,flowers, furniture arrangement, etc etc are simply new age feng shui, which I personally would not adopt. This is when you say you have to think positively on them to bring the desired results. This may happen anyway, without them.
And I would agree with Anny and Danny about each one's different approach in Life and the choices we make for our life.Happiness is a tricky concept and happy are those who have found the secret to happiness.

Even ideas about wealth and what a person would do with it can differ enormously.
I have a large garden and if there was a swimming pool in it then I would use some money to fill it up with stones because I don't like pools at all.
I can't be bothered to spend money on new cars or clothes either..
I would do the same things that I am doing now.
As an old man once put it: happiness is in what you do, not in what you have.

Hi Sainaa,
Contentment is the highest wealth. It had been proven by scientists that most of the spiritual masters in Tibet are the happiest people in the world.

I don't believe feng shui aims at making people rich and happy.
What I offer my clients is to make their house or workplace a more pleasant and nurturing place, which helps them have better health and harmony to manifest their true potential.
But what is their true potential? Can it be changed by feng shui?
If someone has a pessimistic nature, a feng shui consultant can only assure that his house doesn't make him more pessimistic or depressed, and, if possible, that the house helps him in being more positive. But after that, the person can choose to keep being pessimistic or not.
If my 4P chart tells me (as it actually does) that looking after money is unfavorable to me, if I use feng shui in search of fortune, it would be bad in the end.
Not every feng shui master is in it for the money. I was already an active architect when I came to know feng shui, and for me it represented a deeper meaning in my professional practice, a way to make the difference, and not only make it beautiful. But I don't think I would be earning less (or more) money than I do, without feng shui. Who knows?
And... I believe there are some karmic issues you can't avoid, even with feng shui help.

Hi Sainbileg,
A good Feng Shui master needs to spend quite a bit of time doing research so that they can learn more about the mountains and waters in different. If they are lucky they will also have alot of clients from whom they can learn as well.
So being a Feng Shui master is not about the accumulation of wealth, it is about being in the service of others, to help people to live a better life.
Of course if the Feng Shui master is not living a good life then it means they are not applying the knowledge that have learnt and researched to their own lives.
But I think the question you ask also has something to do with karma. I have seen many masters become sick, put on alot of weight, and even die because they have spent too much effort and energy to help others without being able to protect themselves from other people's karma. A holy master once warned me about this and I just laughed. Then afterwards I started to experience some back luck myself. So now, these days I am more careful to protect myself from other people's problems (which is their karma).
Once I owned a cheap car and my clients never commented on it. Then later I bought an expensive car and put the number plate 888 FS. Now my clients always comment on my car and in their eyes, they see this as a symbol of my success. We are still livigin in the material world - after all!

Well said, Aline.
The current focus on money is more a sign of the times, rather than a characteristic of Feng Shui.
Not every age has been so money oriented, and the times when Chinese classics were written was also not a time when money meant everything.
In fact when we read these old books it is easy to see that their time was overly focused on winning wars, invading neighbors, emperors leading armies...
But that was then, and now is now.
When priorities in the society change, then also the application of feng shui gets bent in that direction.
Hence so many people now think feng shui is about increasing wealth and prosperity.
It only reflects the current state of mind of the people.
But it is good to know.
One can use it, first working within people's interest wherever their interest is, then expanding into a more broader approach.

Hi Danny yes you're right in the old days in China it wasn't about money, it was about Power. To achieve a good result in the Imperial Examination was the utmost symbol of success and then to be assigned a good post in the government, as a governor of a rich county was not only a status symbol but also a measure of how much revenue could be earnt by the solving of disputes, taxes, etc.

Hi Jodi,
According to one old theory of social change there are 3 types of ages.
One is the age of acquisitors, which is a time dominated by money.
It is typically followed by an age of warriors, which is a time of wars and exploration. So this is about power like in old days China.
This period is followed by an age of intellectuals, when new ideas and principles rebuild the society.
Then acquisitors can take over again.
It is very easy to split up the intellectuals in two parts. Scientists, researchers and philosophers on the one hand, artists, singers and actors on the other hand.
Then the 5 categories fit with the 5 elements.
Warriors are Water
Scientists are Wood
Artists are Fire
Workers are Earth
Acquisitors are Metal
One can actually take this into account and do the feng shui a little different depending on which type of person is living in the house.

Is misleading to state why some practitioners live poor.
One must understand the nature of the SanYuan.
When you have gained the SanYuan, you will be endowed by the followings: -
The Yuan of Heaven which is your health
The Yuan of Earth which is your wealth
The Yuan of Man which is your family and descendants.
Ask around how many practitioners have these three Yuan?
Then you will know why some are wealthy yet poor in the other 2 aspects of life.
When you bump into a grandmaster who lives to his 100 yrs of age, have many children and all the family toe the line and live a comfortable life and not necessary driving a beemer, then most likely, you have met a real SanYuan master.
