Dear All,

I'm quite new to the Nine Star Ki system. Does anyone know the difference in the powers of either method in reading fate and making personal divination? On the surface, Nine Star Ki does not look as powerful as Four Pillars.

Is it correct that in personal divination one looks at only the first and second stars of the birth year and month, therefore rendering only 81 combinations? I am much more familiar with Four Pillars, where one can get a combination of 1,120,000 charts, because this system incorporates the year, month, date and hour of birth.

I'm also curious why there is no discussion under the Nine Star Ki category yet.

Regards,
Darma

Hi Darma,

There is also a Day Star, which already makes for many more possible types.
Unfortunately there are several different Day Star formulas in circulation, and no agreement on it.

Our friend Heluo has spent half his life studying and teaching 9 Ki.
He is here on the network, just check him out:

You will find a lot of materials on his personal website.

Dear Danny,

Thanks for your reply! Heluo's free materials on his website indeed started me on this 9 Ki adventure for the past few weeks. I was just wondering why there hasn't been any thread with regard to 9 Ki personal divination in this forum, and similarly in other Forums in the net.

My initial topic was a very basic question to the experts, and it was rather meant to jumpstart the 9 Ki section in this Forum.

Darma

Hi Darma,

It's always nice when somebody starts a topic in an empty part of the forum.

I think the situation is that most people are quite busy, and with so many different approaches in Chinese metaphysics, they can't be deeply involved in all of it.
The most busy place around 9 Ki is probably Heluo's NineStarKi group on yahoogroups.
But even there is only on and off activity.

I suppose people are busy practicing and studying, which is also my case usually...

I guess gradually more topics will appear here on the network, it just doesn't move as fast as on a mailing list, but then the topics tend to stay "on" for longer time in a network or forum.

Hi Darma

I study NSK for more than ten years.

basic knowledge which is needed is openmindednes when exploring five transformations and basic structure of I ching.

I see the power of NSK in wide and fast starting possibilities when analyzing someone's issue, later on, we can explore and discover - fine tune - into one's issue.

I like NSK because is generally free of formulas - this is pro and cons. Pro as you can discover many new things and cons, because sometimes it seems that we don't get solutions fast enough.

Hope that this expand your picture of NSK.

Dear Vojko,

Welcome to the Forum and thank you for joining this discussion topic! I have learnt the basics of Nine Star Ki for the past couple of months and have found it helpful in making some decisions and looking at issues affecting me personally, this not counting the many times I see that the global and local news match the Nine Star Ki profile of the year and month.

Darma

You have replied fast!
That's not allways my quality.

I can say quite a lot about NSK, but I cannot say alot about FP.
Whatever I use and however I try to see my world I'm trying to be aware of Hawaiian statement:

"The world is exactly what you think it is."

Of course instead of 'you' there is I !

Anyhow, I believe this could be good way to check our observations, whatever method we use.
