An Eight House Question

Recently it was pointed out to me that not all 8 House teachers seem to agree on the locations of the inauspicious sectors of houses. Mostly it seems that 6 Killings and 5 Ghosts are not located in the same sectors.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how this came about. It seems that not everyone is using the same formula to assign the locations.

Hi Charles,

There's quite a few different interpretations of 8 Mansions. There's the basic one we all learn, based on sitting direction and Ming Gua. There's Na Jia, where good and bad sectors are divided into the 24 mountains, there's annual based on the frame of the year we are in, I use Ba Chaarp, which calculates based both on sitting and door direction as well as Ming Gua. I believe that all use the mountain dragon fan gua method for changing trigram lines, so there should be no difference in the locations of the pos/neg sectors.

do you use door or frontage as facing for 8 mansions?
